TechnoLink is a telecommunications services company with over 10 years of history. Their server room was outdated and improperly located for modern needs.

2. Complexity:\u00a0<\/strong>Need for data synchronization between the old and new systems.
3. Virtualization:<\/strong>\u00a0Moving legacy applications to virtual platforms.
4. Security:<\/strong>\u00a0Protecting data during physical transport.<\/p>\n

Solution<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In collaboration with the client, the specialized\u00a0DIGIKOM<\/strong>\u00a0team successfully implemented the following plan:<\/p>\n

1. Analysis and Planning<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Inventory list of servers and applications.

Selection of a hybrid approach: 10 servers remained physical (critical databases), 20 were virtualized.<\/p>\n

Backup of all data with Veeam Backup & Replication.\u00a0Veeam Backup & Replication.<\/strong>
Installation of the new server room: network switches (Cisco Nexus<\/strong>), storage (Dell EMC PowerStore<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

3. Phased Migration<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Phase 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Virtualization of servers for testing and development.
Phase 2:\u00a0<\/strong>Physical server transfer using the \"lift-and-shift\" technique during the weekend (48-hour downtime).
Phase 3:\u00a0<\/strong>Migration of virtual machines using VMware vMotion with zero downtime.\u00a0VMware vMotion<\/strong>\u00a0\u0441\u043e \u043d\u0443\u043b\u0430 \u0434\u0430\u0443\u043d\u0442\u0430\u0458\u043c.<\/p>\n

4. Testing and Optimization:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Network latency and performance checks.
Configuration of\u00a0HA (High Availability)\u00a0\u0438\u00a0DR (Disaster Recovery)<\/strong>\u00a0plans.<\/p>\n

The implementation was carried out in phases over 4 weeks, during which the following actions were performed:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. Virtual hosts were installed in the new room.
2. Virtual machines were created for application migration.
3. Data backups were transferred to the new location.

5. Physical servers were transported using security trucks with GPS tracking.
Cooling and monitoring systems were activated (PRTG Network Monitor<\/strong>).
7. Final testing and transfer of the last data.
8. Restart services for clients.<\/p>\n

Two months after the migration:<\/p>\n

Electricity costs were reduced<\/strong>\u00a0by 40% thanks to efficient cooling and virtualization.
Performance improved.\u00a0<\/strong>CPU\/Memory usage was optimized by 30% through virtualization.

The migration of TechnoLink server room was a successful combination of virtualization and physical transfer, a project that demonstrated that with detailed planning, the use of modern tools, and teamwork, risks are minimized, and goals are successfully achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n
